Heather Lewis, Specialist Registrar at the Royal London Hospital, talks about 'chronic viral hepatitis in migrants'.

Heather talks about the prevalence of hepatitis infections in the UK and around the world.

Around two billion people or around one third of the world's population are thought to have been affected by hepatitis B. Prevalence of hepatitis can be higher among migrants from certain countries, with more than 90% of new chronic hepatitis B diagnoses in the UK estimated to be among migrants.

Heather also discusses when practitioners should screen for hepatitis and when to refer across to secondary care.
